The Australian Refugee Foundation was established in 1997 to procure and manage funds for the Refugee Council of Australia (RCOA).
As RCOA is an independent, non-government policy organisation working with and for refugees and asylum seekers, it is important that it should have an independent source of funding.
While external sources of funding for RCOA vary from year to year, the Australian Refugee Foundation ensures that RCOA can continue its work in supporting the work of its members and of refugee communities and remain an independent voice on refugee rights.
